Jonathan Cortijo

1. How did your interest in salsa dancing begin?

I was looking for something new. I realized I had been stuck in the same routine for quite some time and wanted to break things up.

2. How do you deal with mistakes while learning to dance salsa?

I laugh and learn from them, that's all that you can do.

3. What’s a time you found yourself unexpectedly dancing salsa in a unique or unusual place. Where were you, and how did it go down?

I was at the gym listening to salsa music and found myself doing the basic.

4. In what ways has dancing salsa improved your life in general?

It has made me a more interesting person. Overall it has made me much happier as well.

5. How would you describe the atmosphere and community at Movers and Shakers Dance Academy?

It's amazing. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The community is what really makes this place special. I don't think I would be as interested in salsa if it were not for the community that is here.
