How to respond to positive reviews

Updated: Jul 21

Responding to every review, good or negative, demonstrates that you care about the students' experience. This can help to foster an inviting atmosphere and motivate prospects to give our academy a try.

WHICH REVIEWS TO RESPOND TO:

•    Every review

GOALS (WHY RESPOND):

•    Boost SEO

•    Increase positive impact of every review

•    Get humans to read more of our responses

FORMULA FOR RESPONDING TO REVIEWS:

1. Restate ONE point made in the review that aligns with a strong selling point of MaS. Restate the selling point in the FIRST WORDS if possible (because often that’s the only part people read)

2. Emphasize that we indeed are focused on creating this selling point and that we are glad it is working for them

3. Conclude with simple thank you, or positive statement about the future

TONE:

•    Write with personality! Do NOT write with generic, vanilla, boring, “ultra safe” tonality

LENGTH:

•    3-4 sentences

•    PITHY statements. Use few words!

GRAMMAR:

•    Double check with ChatGPT before posting

OTHER GUIDELINES:

•    Don’t refer to other dance schools (even if they do). That is likely to backfire if we say it (but it’s EXCELLENT if they say it)

EXAMPLES:

REVIEW 1:

I honestly can't say enough nice things about my experience with Movers and Shakers. Amazing community, fantastic new friends, lots of laughs and fun. –This program totally takes the anxiety out of learning salsa through incredibly well thought out formulas that build on one another. Danny is an awesome instructor! He's built an amazing program. I love that he reviews each class at the end by having us record a video of what we learned so that we can practice on our own and together. These courses are so much more than just learning salsa or bachata. Your life will expand from it exponentially. What are you waiting for? Sign up!

RESPONSE 1:

“Well thought out formulas…” YES we’ve put tremendous care into the curriculum to create proper building blocks for the students. We’re so happy that it’s being felt! Thank you Naz for sharing your experience.

REVIEW 2:

Movers and Shakers is amazing. I've taken salsa lessons at a couple studios here in Los Angeles and this is the first time I felt like I was REALLY learning the fundamentals. Danny is an amazing instructor and I recommend the privates as well, Ariela is amazing. This is the only studio you should be going to if you want to learn salsa and be GOOD!

RESPONSE 2:

Fundamentals! YES! We’re obsessed with proper fundamentals and are delighted that what we’ve developed is working for you. Your progress is inspiring!

REVIEW 3:

I love going to my salsa class every week. It is the highlight of my week! I truly believed I was not a good dancer growing up and now I am CONFIDENT to say that I GOT RHYTHM. I enjoy dancing too much that sometimes I find myself dancing at the grocery store.

Movers and Shakers isn't just a dance class--it's a family, a supportive community where I've found belonging and inspiration.

In Movers and Shakers, I've found not only a dance class but a home--a place where my passion for salsa is nurtured, and my spirit finds liberation in movement. I am eternally grateful for this extraordinary experience and eagerly anticipate the adventures that await in Level 2 and beyond.

REPONSE 3:

A “home” for the students is exactly what we strive to be. We’re so happy you feel at home at Movers and Shakers! Thank you for being part of the family. Excited to see you advance to level 2 and beyond!
