Uploading Recap Videos for App Users

This SOP is for Virtual Assistants (VAs) responsible for managing recap videos. It outlines the process to ensure timely updates and availability of recap videos in the app for users.

Uploading recap videos after each class ensures that students have the resources to review and reinforce what they’ve learned. With weekly classes over 10 weeks, timely access to these videos supports consistent practice and better retention of the material.

From experience, students who engage with these videos show improved performance and are more likely to complete the program. Uploading the videos promptly after each class helps maintain learning momentum and reduces gaps in understanding.

Below is the step-by-step guide for uploading recap videos each week.

1. Upload to Mega: Meryo is responsible for uploading the recap video that Danny provides to Mega.

   
   

2. Daily Check and Upload to Vimeo: You will check the #class-videos-and-photos Slack channel daily for the Mega link shared by Meryo. Once the link is available, you will download the video and upload it to Vimeo. If no link is shared, you will follow up with Meryo to request the videos.

   To upload to Vimeo:

   • Log in to your Vimeo account.

   • Go to Team Library > Movers and Shakers Dance Academy > Recap Videos.

   • Find the folder for the specific program or create a new one if needed.

   • Click 'New' > 'Upload', then select the video file to upload.

   • Once uploaded, set the link privacy to 'Hide from Vimeo' and the Embed preset to 'MaS App' (see the picture for where to find these settings)

     

   
   

3. Vimeo to App Upload Process:

   • Go to app.moversandshakersdance.com and log in using the admin@moversandshakersdance.com account.

   • Navigate to the Recap Videos page.

   • Click on Admin Panel.

   • Select 'Add a Recap Video'.

   • In the search bar, look for the specific class scheduled to be uploaded today.

   • Add all required details:

     • Week #

     • Video Aspect

     • Vimeo ID (You can find the Vimeo ID in the video URL; it’s the series of numbers. See the photo below for reference.)

       

   • Click Add Video once all details are added.

     
     

4. Update Tracker: Once the video is uploaded to the app, update the tracker to ensure all videos scheduled for your shift are uploaded. If no videos are uploaded, highlight the date in red.

   • If necessary, use recap videos from a previous season, but make sure to ask and confirm with Meryo or leadership which season should be used.
